What is Bioethanol?
Bioethanol fuel is introduced as an environmentally friendly alternative to existing fuels.
Bioethanol is neither more nor less than the concentration and dehydration of an alcohol obtained mainly from
cereals, beet or cane sugar.
He can currently be used in 3 ways:
- as it is being mixed with conventional gasoline in a proportion of 10% without modification of the vehicle..
- converted to ETBE is a derivative that can be blended with conventional gasoline in a proportion of 15%, this derivative is currently using most of bioethanol production but also more polluting to produce.
- as fuel in its own right with the E85 consists of 85% bioethanol and 15% of Unleaded 95. It is currently the most environmentally friendly in its use since it produces much less greenhouse emissions than conventional fuels. This fuel requires special vehicles.
If at first light this seems perfectly ecological fuel, many raise the
issues duent its manufacture.
